Fault Tree Analysis Including Component Dependencies

چکیده

Fault Tree (FT) analysis is not only the most common technique used in engineering practice for estimation of system reliability, but also a key tool shared between designers, analysts, and regulators safe operation licensing purposes. In spite its long lasting success, traditional FT presents significant limitations modeling wide range features frequently encountered modern systems. The critical these assumption failure events independence, which often justified by realistic behavior system, undermining accuracy. This article introduces novel methodology FTs allowing component dependencies dynamic features. proposed approach, based on use binary decision diagrams, demonstrated using simple numerical application verification. Its applicability computational feasibility discussed details.
